{"id":2,"date":"2021-07-31T13:27:38","date_gmt":"2021-07-31T13:27:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blackleadershipgroup.com\/toolkit2\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2023-10-02T08:25:29","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T08:25:29","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blackleadershipgroup.com\/toolkit\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In August 2020, the Black Further Education Leadership Group (BFELG) circulated its \u2018Open Letter to address systemic racism in further education\u2019 (see Appendix 1). Through it, we invited all FE stakeholders to acknowledge the race inequality challenges prevalent in the post-16 education and skills sector, and to join with BFELG to \u201ccollectively address the barriers that our students, staff and communities face.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of our call to action, was BFELG\u2019s promise to \u201cplay our full part, as leaders, as expert practitioners and as role models to enable the FE system to \u2018step up\u2019 to its responsibility for addressing race inequality.\u201d Our commitment is to support everyone who is invested in the future of FE to make the most of an ethnically diverse Post-Brexit Britain by delivering a fair and equitable playing field for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our \u201810 Point Plan\u2019 presents a roadmap for achieving this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 10 Point Plan has been widely endorsed, and is already being used by a number of organisations as an audit and developmental tool to begin to address issues of racial inequalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cAn excellent, helpful and crystalised framework.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cA powerful and thoughtful intervention and resource &#8211; it has currency, punch and edge.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cAn invaluable tool for us to structure our mentoring, meetings, and forums in relation to equality.
