* ‘Communications’ means all processes used to convey information to desired audiences (internally and externally), either directly or indirectly e.g. events, advertising, branding, campaigns, online promotions, language/ translations, etc. ** ’Messaging’ refers to how an organisation conveys itself, what it stands for and what it values. This includes physical, physiological and online messaging e.g. literature/ displays, naming of ‘public’ spaces, tweets, etc. + ‘Optics’ refers to the public perception of an organisation or decisions made by it e.g. student/workforce/leadership profile, rewards/recognition, treatment of individuals or specific groups.
